Original DC Chapel

This is a picture of a painting in the Barlow Center. The chapel on the right is the original chapel built in DC. It was dedicated in 1933. There is actually an Angel Moroni statue on the spire. Probably the only chapel to have had Moroni. The building was sold to the Unification Church in 1977. The Angel was removed and is now in the Church History Museum in SLC. We drove by the building the other day and it is still there as a Unification Church.

The DC 3rd ward is on this same street (16th) and it is a beautiful building. We'll post photos later. That street has an amazing number of churches -- somewhere around 65. I guess DC can use all the religion it can get.
