Last Saturday we went to National Harbor. This is something that did not exist when we lived there before. It is near Oxon Hill, MD. This is how the website describes it:
National Harbor is situated on the banks of the historic Potomac River, just minutes from the nation’s capital. Featuring 350 acres of waterfront resort space, National Harbor is a destination unlike any other. Developed by Peterson Companies over 10 years ago, this area is home to 160 stores, 40 restaurants, an iconic Capital Wheel and the best sunsets in the D.C. area.
What it doesn't mention is the Large MGM resort and casino.
It was a cold day but we decided to check it out. Here are a couple pics looking out at the Potomac River and the large Ferris wheel (the Capital Wheel with gondolas).

And from iconic, Americana pictures:
A salute to the armed forces.
Next time we go we will pick a warmer day. Windchill was 21!!! We lasted about twenty minutes before we headed back to the car with frozen fingers from taking the pics!
